A nebula has been discovered that resembles the double helix pattern of DNA. This is the first nebula to be discovered in this pattern. It runs perpendicular to a black hole so some experts think that the black hole’s magnetic forces are pulling the nebula towards it in order to form this pattern.
- “Nobody has ever seen anything like that before in the cosmic realm,” said Mark Morris of the University of California, Los Angeles. Most nebulae are “formless, amorphous conglomerations of dust and gas,” Morris said in a statement, adding that this one “indicates a high degree of order.”
When I read things like this it strengthens my belief that no matter how hard anyone tries to be alone or isolated we are all connected. It is too much of a coincidence for something like a nebula to be shaped like the pattern found in any form of cellular life on this planet. The Nebula is also near the center of the Milky Way. It makes me think that other galaxies could have nebulas shaped like their life forms. The possibilities are endless.

I’ve been a Yip-Yip fan for a while. My friend had them as a ‘friend’ on myspace and that was that.
Also, this post is very nice. I hadn’t heard about this and I too love anything of this nature. Thanks!
